Backyard Wedding in East Nashville

The more I get to know Doug and Lea, the more I like them! They are down to earth, straightforward people, and I love talking to them because I always get a good, real conversation with them. They had a wonderful wedding in their backyard, but they’ll be the first to tell you it’s not easy having a wedding at your house! However, they pulled it off with the help of Weddings by Mary Natalie, and it was absolutely beautiful! Some of the unique things you’ll see in the pictures below are a huge pinata full of goodies for all the guests, mismatched china place settings, photos of previously married people at each table, vintage couches and settings, amazing lighting by Nashville Event Lighting, flowers from Fresh by CarryAnn, and a delicious cake by The Almond Tree!

Probably the most unique thing at their wedding was the bond that Doug and Lea had with every single person that attended. They didn’t invite anyone they didn’t have a true and lasting relationship with. It’s so easy to get wrapped up in inviting people that “should” be there, but it makes for a truly amazing day to invite those that mean the most to you.

The fantastic Amy Lynn Larwig rocked Lea’s hair & makeup.

Lea’s oh-so-beautiful dress is from the oh-so-beautiful boutique, The Bride Room.

“Advice for the Newlyweds” cards and the most creative invitations we’ve ever seen…designed by Amy at 4th Leaf Studio!

Doug & Lea built this pavilion (and the trellis they were married under) specifically for their wedding!
